Mia Pino
I am a Master Newborn Care Specialist, and I am located in Northen California. I will travel domestically and internationally as well.
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I came to the United States when I was in my early teens. I attended Holy Names University in Oakland, California, where I received my BA in Business Administration as well as a Certificate to teach English as a foreign language. I originally started teaching English as a Second Language in Peru, my native country for eight years. In 1993, I relocated to San Carlos, CA, where I continued to teach ESL in the local school district as well as working part time as a Nanny. In 2000, I was hired for a full-time nanny role, and I knew I found my true calling. I spent many years with this family, taking care of their young children before deciding to concentrate on Newborn Care and the privilege of helping parents give their youngest family members the best start possible.
I have been working with children of all ages for over 30 years, and specifically working as a Newborn Care Specialist since 2000. I have successfully worked with twins, preemies and singleton babies. I am committed to my ongoing education, achieving many of the latest certifications in newborn care. I enjoy sharing all of this knowledge with new parents, teaching them everything from swaddling to breastfeeding.
I consider myself very blessed to be doing what is a true passion of mine: caring for little ones by providing loving, safe and expert infant care. I support and promote parents & baby bond, educate and guide my clients with evidence based reseearch resources.. Whether this is your first or second child, I can help you feel more confident in your parenting skills, let you enjoy your time with your newborn, and allow you the time to recover from the delivery.
In addition to Newborn Care Specialist, I am highly experienced with sleep conditioning - training with both newborns and older infants. Within a relatively short timeframe and the collaborative team efforts with the parents, almost all of my charges are sleeping through the night without interruption. While this is a certainly an important milestone, I continually document all of the other developmental stages for the benefit of the parents.
Connecting with your little one, comes in quite easy for me because I care for your baby as I would care for my own with love and respect. It is part of my ability to accept each and every baby for the unique person that he or she is.
